A/N: From Hogwarts: A History
Much to the dismay of the architect and builders, the four founders could find little to agree upon in the design of the building. Conflicts were mitigated slightly by giving each sole domain over their own wings, but planning the common areas caused numerous disputes.
Godric wanted the staircase here, Rowena wanted it there, Helga preferred a ramp, and Salazar thought that anyone incapable of flying or apparition didn't belong in the school at all.
The magnificent moving staircases are considered the crowning achievement of architect Barnabus Boutros, a creative way to simultaneously please all and none of the founders.

A/N: Sorry, I didn't expect to come up with a second one...
The initial planning for a British school of wizardry was conducted over several years via mail. [See Owls On 'Ogwarts for the complete correspondence.]
It took months of negotiation for the five wizards involved to finally agree to meet in person. But when the time came, only four showed up.
The fifth, Melville Mingwort, blamed his absence on the location being unplottable. The other founders denied this, considered it an unworthy excuse and barred Mingwort from further involvement in planning the school.
Historians later discovered that Salazar Slytherin had hidden the meeting place, because he considered Melville a terrible bore.

I liked this drabble. It has a good use of both humour and history. Good job!
