The earth didn't move, nor were there bolts of lightning from the clear blue sky. But all through the stands, jaws dropped in amazement as Belinda Cooper, Ravenclaw Seeker, made an extraordinarily clever move and snatched the Snitch from two inches in front of the Slytherin Seeker's grasping hand.
It was the first Ravenclaw victory of the year; the first Slytherin defeat in nearly two years. Nobody had expected the daring flight, the precision maneuver, the stunning reversal of fortune. Well, not precisely nobody.
"Well, I'll be damned," said Albus Dumbledore, watching from the stands. "Sybill finally got one right."
